The Drama Club’s production of Godspell premieres tonight.
Godspell is a musical originating in the 1970s that is made up of parables based on the Gospel of Matthew. Though there are Biblical characters (Jesus, Judas/John), they are named after the original 1971 performers, Stephen and David. Accompanying the two are eight storytellers acting out the parables.
The musical runs from May 1st to 5th, with 7 p.m. shows each day and 2 p.m. shows on the weekends. Tickets are $5 for students and children and $10 for adults. They may be purchased online or in person at the admission box.
