The student band Pocket Change will take the stage at Fridays After Five at Ting Pavillion to open for Skip Castro Band. The band is composed of Seniors Ian Traub, Laveen Hiranandani, Adam Kester, Hares Ragub, and Sophomore Jacob Miller. All five of them are also members of the AHS Jazz Band.
They play “jazz funk” music, as described by Miller.
Pocket Change earned the performance opportunity by winning a battle of the bands competition at the Music Resource Center downtown.
“We’re very excited to have the opportunity to open,” Miller said. “We hope that people will enjoy what we play. We have a good mixture of songs that may sound familiar, and some that may be new to them. It’s all very high energy and a lot of fun.”
The show starts at 5:30, no tickets are required, and refreshments will be sold.
