Next week is Homecoming week at AHS. The week will feature spirit days and events leading up to the football game on Thursday with a tailgate beforehand.

Each spirit day will feature a unique theme and breezeway event during lunch. Monday is Jersey & Dogs Out day, Tuesday is Generations day, Wednesday is Dress Up/Dress Down day, and Thursday is Patriot Out. 

There will also be a pep rally at the end of the day on Thursday, which will run on a special schedule with shortened classes and no Patriot Period.

The Homecoming dance will be taking place Saturday, Sept. 27 in the Breezeway. As usual, there will be an underclassmen and upperclassmen section. The underclassmen dance will be from 7-8:30 p.m., and the upperclassmen dance will take place from 9-10:30 p.m.

Tickets are available to purchase for $10 at the SCA window in the cafeteria. However, before purchasing a ticket, students must have both the online information form and paper permission slip completed. The permission slip can also be picked up in the cafeteria. There will be a clear bag policy in effect at the dance, and all students must either park in the front of the school or be dropped off in the bus lot.

The SCA is running a Homecoming Closet with dance-appropriate clothing for students in need. To make a donation, you can drop off any items in room 141. If you would like to take advantage of the Closet, talk to either your school counselor, any of the mental health support specialists, or either of the Communities in Schools representatives.
