“This one time, my coworker Ivan, and I were in the cheese department. He said he’d be back with something for us to drink and returned with a whole coconut, asking, ‘You want a drink?’ He then tried to cut it open with a butcher knife, using the thin side instead of the sharp one and dented the knife. I told him he wasn’t doing it right and tried myself, but after several hard hits, the coconut still wouldn’t open, and the knife was now bent and full of holes. Ivan and I just looked at each other and started laughing. I decided to hide the damaged knife in the clean dishes pile to avoid blame. Later, the seafood guy came in, and I discreetly slipped the knife into the clean area. When the butcher went to chop, he found the knife and asked what we had done to it. It was hard to keep a straight face as we pretended not to know.”
