Narcos

four

The series tracks the rise and fall of “the king of cocaine,” Pablo Escobar (played by Colombian actor Wagner Moura), and his war with the American Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Narcos takes an unflinching look at the war on drugs; one of this country’s most violent conflicts. A lot of events that are set in this show are very accurate to the time period it’s portraying, the 1980s. Watch If you enjoy: Weeds, Breaking Bad and The Wire.

This show is about a 30 year old New York actor who can’t make decisions. The main character is played by famous comedian Aziz Ansari, where each episode is a completely different story. This show does a great job relating to the audience by comically putting voice to people’s inner thoughts. For example, the first episode is about Ansari wanting kids, but he soon realizes that it’s not always as good as it seems. I finished this show in a day and couldn’t stop laughing. I promise you that you will both laugh and cry by the end. I give this show 3 stars because it’s hilarious, but it still needs more plot. Watch if you enjoy: Seinfeld, Community or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Mad Men

4.5

Alpha male Don Draper (played by Jon Hamm) shows his struggle to stay on top of a Madison Avenue advertising firm. Hamm does a good job capturing the audience’s attention because even though he is a womanizer,  we still want him to redeem his past actions. I love this show because it’s about a character who is not a good person, but you still want him to succeed. Every season gets better, and you won’t stop binge watching it. Watch if you enjoy: Game of Thrones, Scandal and House of Cards.
