With arms swinging and feet stomping to the rhythm of African drumming, students filled the library during CHAT on Feb. 11.

The group Chihamba performed live drumming and dancing to celebrate Black History Month.

During the event, students from all grades were pulled out and taught some west African style dance moves. Even teachers jumped in and enjoyed the dancing and live music.

“It was fun,” senior Nehemiah Lesesane said. “It really brought everyone together to celebrate the African-American culture and we even saw where some of the dances we do today sort of originated from.”
