The Roma Short Film Festival has accepted a film created by three Advanced Filmmaking students.

The film, “Eli,” is a five-minute feature produced by junior Heba Alwan, written by senior Finn Niehoff and directed by senior Bella Sonen. The students created the film over the course of 72 hours during the Light House Studios Adrenaline Film Project in October, placing second for the Audience Award.

“Eli” focuses on a father and son, exploring the complexities of toxic family dynamics, substance abuse and divorce.

The film will be screened at Roma in November, and the students hope to be featured in other festivals as well.
