- 25 years teaching math, two years as Athletic Director at Monticello.
- “When I was younger I played ‘school’ all the time and always was the teacher. I have always known that I wanted to go into education and when I was in high school I had amazing algebra one and two teachers which made me fall in love with math. I was also a swimmer and wanted to go to a school that had both [teaching and sports], so I ended up at the University of Wisconsin where I got a teaching degree and swam for four years. I have been a math teacher, swim coach, and got my masters degree in sports administration. I love sports and math and kids. Every day is a different day in the education world.”
- “Thursday. Not quite the end of the week when I am in hurry mode but also not the beginning of the week when I am not in my rhythm yet.”
- “I was born in England. My dad was in the Navy and stationed in Spain, but when my mom was ready to have me, she decided that dual citizenship with England was more convenient than with Spain. She took a boat over to England, stayed with her mom, and had me before traveling back to Spain. Now I have dual citizenship with England.”
