English and Special Education Teacher Stu Poindexter

9th, 11th, and 12th grade English and Special Education.
Began teaching career in Pasco County Virginia, then moved to 8th grade English at Louisa County Middle School, and then Monticello Highschool for 2 years teaching English and SPED.
“I think I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I admired the teachers I had growing up, especially in middle and high school. It just always felt natural. There is a certain leadership component to teaching that was always attractive to me.”
“Friday. Besides the obvious reasons, I really like being in a school environment on a Friday. There is a lot of school spirit and excitement in the halls.
“My wife used to teach at Jouett (Journey) and now I have some of the same students she taught when she worked there. Also, we have a family dog named Emmet who is the cutest dog ever.”
