The AHS branch of the Young Asian-American Pacific Islanders of Charlottesville (YAAPIC) will be hosting a Lunar New Year potluck and celebration in the media center on Friday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-8:00 pm.
All attendees will participate in making vegetarian dumplings, in one of which a coin will be hidden. Whoever gets the dumpling containing the coin will receive a red envelope containing money. Members of YAAPIC will also be donating food for a potluck dinner.
The celebration will also include live traditional Chinese folk music, and YAAPIC will be decorating the space with paper cranes and a dragon in collaboration with the National Art Honor Society. The event is open to everyone, and admission is free.
